The task of GBiT Tech is to provide technical support to the staff and students of Granite Bay High School. Students in GBiT Tech receive calls through the RJUHSD Helpdesk system, where teachers and staff report a variety of technology issues. GBiT Tech students are assigned specific calls and work to solve those technology issues. In addition, GBiT Tech also works to maintain clean and organized computer labs and individual workstations, instal new and loaner PCs, set up projector and audio/video equipment, install new printers, and more. GBiT Tech is the most visible GBiT group on Granite Bay’s campus. In addition to these tasks, GBiT Tech students will receive Cisco IT Essentials curriculum and training geared toward A+ certification. At the end of two semesters, GBiT Tech students who are dedicated will be prepared to take the A+ certification tests. Beyond A+ certification, GBiT Tech students can also take Cisco courses in Networking (CCNA certification), Linux, Cyber Security, and Entrepreneurship or Microsoft IT courses to prepare for Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certification. GBiT Tech’s receive hands on experience and training in both hardware and software.
